Federal officers, agents, or employees who knowingly help someone break laws that ban bringing in, advertising, selling, showing, or mailing certain offensive or dangerous materials can be punished. Covered materials include obscene or indecent items; things that urge treason, insurrection, or violent resistance to U.S. laws; threats to kill or hurt someone in the United States; means for getting an abortion; and other indecent or immoral articles. Such officers must pay a federal fine, be jailed for up to ten years, or both.
