Title 18 › Part I— CRIMES › Chapter 29— ELECTIONS AND POLITICAL ACTIVITIES › § 593
Makes it a crime for any U.S. military officer or member to interfere with state elections. That includes trying to set who can vote, stopping or threatening qualified voters, ordering officials to take votes from people who are not allowed, making election rules that conflict with state law, or otherwise getting in the way of election officials doing their jobs. Anyone who does this can be fined, put in jail for up to five years, or both, and lose the right to hold a U.S. government office. A service member may still vote in the district where they are eligible under state law.
