The Postmaster General and the head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection must work together, and with other agencies as needed, to find and create technology that can detect illicit fentanyl, other synthetic opioids, and other narcotics and psychoactive substances sent into the United States by mail. They must also talk with private companies to learn about current tools and where new technology is needed.
