Title 19 › Chapter 23— EXTENSION OF CERTAIN TRADE BENEFITS TO SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA › Subchapter III— ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RELATED ISSUES › § 3734
The Board of Directors of the Export‑Import Bank must keep taking wide-ranging steps, while following the credit rules required by law, to increase the Bank’s loans, guarantees, and insurance in sub‑Saharan Africa. The law praises the sub‑Saharan Africa Advisory Committee (SAAC) for helping the Bank double the number of countries where it offers traditional financing and for increasing the Bank’s support for sales to the region tenfold from fiscal year 1998 to fiscal year 1999. The Board and its staff must keep carefully reviewing SAAC’s recommendations for new policies and programs to expand the Bank’s work in sub‑Saharan Africa.
