If the Capitol Police Board declares an emergency about people’s safety or protecting property, the Architect of the Capitol can take donated comfort items and small services to help employees of the Architect’s office who are working the emergency. The Architect can also spend available appropriated funds for meals, drinks, and other needed support and maintenance when the Architect decides those costs are necessary to respond. This applies to fiscal year 2010 and each succeeding fiscal year.
