§2202 Designation and Naming Within the Capitol Visitor Center

Summary

Any part of the Capitol Visitor Center must be named only if at least three-quarters of the Democratic members and at least three-quarters of the Republican members of the Capitol Preservation Commission agree. This rule does not apply to rooms or spaces run by the Senate or the House of Representatives.

(a)Except as provided under subsection (b), no part of the Capitol Visitor Center may be designated or named without the approval of—

(1)not less than ¾ of all members on the Capitol Preservation Commission who are members of the Democratic party; and

(2)not less than ¾ of all members on the Capitol Preservation Commission who are members of the Republican party.

(b)Subsection (a) shall not apply to any room or space under the jurisdiction of the Senate or the House of Representatives.
