Summary

The Director of Accessibility Services must send the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and the House Committee on House Administration a list of the Office’s specific duties, and those two committees must approve that list. The Director must send the list within 30 days after the transfer date. The person who led the Congressional Special Services Office on October 20, 2008 will be the first Director, appointed by the Congressional Accessibility Services Board under section 2172.

(a)
(b)The Director of Accessibility Services shall submit to the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate and the Committee on House Administration of the House of Representatives a list of the specific functions that the Office of Congressional Accessibility Services will perform in carrying out this part with the approval of the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate and the Committee on House Administration of the House of Representatives. The Director of Accessibility Services shall submit the list not later than 30 days after the transfer date.
(c)The individual who serves as the head of the Congressional Special Services Office as of October 20, 2008, shall be the first Director of Accessibility Services appointed by the Congressional Accessibility Services Board under section 2172 of this title.
