Summary

Keeps the Capitol Police, the Capitol Police Board, the Senate’s Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper, and the House’s Sergeant at Arms as the only people in charge of security for the Capitol and the Capitol Visitor Center. The Architect of the Capitol and the Chief Executive Officer cannot take over that role. Makes the Architect of the Capitol the only official in charge of running and caring for the Capitol Visitor Center. All maintenance, grounds work, repairs, changes, and improvements there must be done under the Architect’s supervision. General policy decisions must be approved by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration and the House Office Building Commission.
