Title 2 › Chapter 12— CONTESTED ELECTIONS › § 384
Require that every paper except the notice of contest be served on the other side’s lawyer, or on the party if they have no lawyer. Service can be by handing a copy to them, leaving it at their main office (or at their home with a responsible person 16 or older if there’s no office), or mailing it. Mail service counts when mailed. Papers filed after the notice must also be filed with the Clerk before or within a reasonable time after service and include proof of when and how they were served (a server’s sworn statement or the serving attorney’s certificate). Not filing the proof does not make the service invalid.
