File papers like pleadings, motions, depositions, appendixes, and briefs by either delivering a copy to the Clerk at the House of Representatives office in Washington, D.C. (or to a staff member there) or by registered or certified mail to that address. If a mailed copy isn’t actually received, file another copy within a reasonable time, and send any extra copies the committee’s rules require at the same time. The Clerk must promptly send everything he receives to the committee.
