§474 Director of Office of Technology Assessment

Summary

The Board must appoint the Director of the Office of Technology Assessment. The Director serves for six years unless the Board removes them sooner. The Director is paid at the Level III rate of the Executive Schedule under section 5314 of title 5. The Director must carry out the duties in this chapter and any other duties the Board gives. With the Board’s approval, the Director may name a Deputy. The Deputy does tasks the Director assigns and becomes Acting Director if the Director is absent, incapacitated, or the job is vacant. The Deputy is paid at the Level IV rate under section 5315 of title 5. Neither the Director nor the Deputy may have any other job or serve for any organization that the Office contracts with, unless the Board approves.
