§5106 Allowance for Compensation of Interns in House Leadership Offices

Summary

Creates an allowance for the House to pay interns who work in House leadership offices. Section 5321(b) about benefit rules applies to these interns the same way it applies to interns paid from the Members’ Representational Allowance. A “House leadership office” means any office whose salaries and expenses are paid under the “House Leadership Offices” heading in the annual Legislative Branch appropriations law. “Intern” means the same as in section 5321(c)(2). Money as needed is authorized for fiscal year 2020 and each year after, and the rule applies starting in fiscal year 2020.
