Title 2 › Chapter 53— HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES MEMBERS › Subchapter II— EMPLOYEES › § 5322a
Creates money for the House to pay interns who work in Members’ offices. Each Member’s office may not use more than $20,000 of this money in any calendar year. The same rules that apply under section 5321(b) to interns paid from the Members’ Representational Allowance also apply to interns paid from this new allowance. This change does not stop offices from using the Members’ Representational Allowance to pay interns. “Intern” means the same thing as in section 5321(c)(2). “Member of the House of Representatives” means a Representative, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner. The law authorizes $8,800,000 for fiscal year 2019 and whatever sums are needed for fiscal year 2020 and each year after.
