Title 2 › Chapter 55— HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OFFICERS AND ADMINISTRATION › Subchapter III— CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER › § 5531
The Chief Administrative Officer of the House can make one or more contracts with private groups so people with disabilities can provide services to House offices. The Officer can also pay for reasonable accommodations, such as assistive technology devices and services, so those individuals can do the work. When making these contracts, the Officer must try to use both traditional and new outreach to find people with disabilities, make sure the private groups give training and education to improve job chances, and work to tell House offices about hiring opportunities. Up to $500,000 may be spent from House accounts for each of the fiscal years 2003 through 2007.
