Title 2 › Chapter 55— HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OFFICERS AND ADMINISTRATION › Subchapter III— CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER › § 5549
Creates a House Intern Resource Office inside the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer. The new office is called the House Intern Resource Office (the Office). It will be led by a House Intern Resource Coordinator (the Coordinator), who the Chief Administrative Officer must hire after talking with the chair and the ranking minority member of the Committee on House Administration. The Office must help House interns by giving accommodations, training, and professional growth opportunities; act as a central place for best practices on recruiting, hiring, and using interns; and collect demographic and other information about interns. It must look at unfair access to internships and study a possible stipend program for interns from underrepresented schools, including HBCUs, Tribal Colleges and Universities, HSIs, and other Minority Serving Institutions in section 1067q(a) of title 20. Money may be provided for these duties starting in fiscal year 2023 and each year after.
