Title 2 › Chapter 61— SENATE LEADERSHIP › Subchapter I— GENERAL › § 6101
Lets the Vice President, or the Senate’s Secretary for the Majority or Secretary for the Minority, ask in writing to move any amount they choose from their salary appropriations into the Senate’s contingent fund for miscellaneous items. The Vice President’s money comes from the Vice President’s salary account, and the Majority or Minority Secretary’s money comes from their offices’ salary account. They may spend what is needed and pay bills from the money moved, after they approve the payment paperwork. The Secretary of the Senate can advance money ahead of time to cover these costs. This rule starts in fiscal year 2005 and applies to every fiscal year after.
