Starting June 27, 1956, the Secretary of the Senate and the Sergeant at Arms must buy insurance to protect their office funds from loss and must buy enough coverage to do so. The insurance premiums must be paid out of the contingent fund of the Senate when vouchers are approved by the chairman of the Committee on Rules and Administration.
