Title 2 › Chapter 65— SENATE OFFICERS AND ADMINISTRATION › Subchapter II— SECRETARY OF THE SENATE › Part B— General Powers and Duties › § 6567
Starting July 11, 1987, the Secretary of the Senate may use money from the Secretary’s contingent fund—no more than $50,000 in any fiscal year—to help carry out duties involving foreign parliamentary groups or other foreign officials in the United States. This authority applies to spending for fiscal years that end after September 30, 1986. If the Secretary sends a written request and notifies the Senate Appropriations Committee, up to $15,000 in any fiscal year may be moved from the Office of the Secretary’s expense account into the Secretary’s expense allowance account, and those transferred funds can be used the same way as other money in that allowance.
