As of October 1, 1983, any law passed before that date that told the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper to deposit money to "Miscellaneous Items" or "Automobiles and Maintenance" is treated as telling him to deposit that money to the "Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate" contingent fund account.
