Title 20 › Chapter 28— HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Subchapter I— GENERAL PROVISIONS › Part E— Lender and Institution Requirements Relating to Education Loans › § 1019c
Within 180 days after the model form is created, the Secretary must give every college that takes part in the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program a completed disclosure form. The form must show the same details for Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, and Federal Direct PLUS loans made to students at that college. Each college must make that information available to students and their families. If a college gives a student information about a private education loan, it must give the student the Secretary’s disclosure at the same time. A college may use its own similar form instead of the model form.
