§1068d Assistance to Institutions Under Other Programs

Title 20 › Chapter 28— HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Subchapter III— INSTITUTIONAL AID › Part G— General Provisions › § 1068d

Last updated Apr 5, 2026|Official source

Summary

Schools the Secretary finds eligible under part A or part B may get special waivers. Under rules the Secretary makes, if one of those schools submits an application for help under programs in part D or subchapter IV and the application would otherwise be approved, the Secretary can waive the school's normal non‑Federal share (the money the school would usually have to provide) or give that application priority over others, as long as other laws are not broken. The Secretary cannot waive the non‑Federal share for any application that would, if approved, require spending more than 10 percent of that program’s annual appropriation.
