Title 20 › Chapter 28— HIGHER EDUCATION RESOURCES AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Subchapter IV— STUDENT ASSISTANCE › Part G— General Provisions Relating to Student Assistance Programs › § 1093a
Articulation agreement: an agreement between colleges that says which courses will count toward specific degrees or programs. The Secretary must run a program to help States and public colleges create, improve, and put in place comprehensive articulation agreements by 2010, and across State lines when possible. These agreements must be posted publicly on State and college websites. States and colleges may use strategies like common course numbers, a shared general education core, systems for course equivalency and credit transfer, and other approaches the Secretary names. The Secretary must give technical help but cannot force colleges to adopt particular policies or practices about these agreements.
