Title 20 › Chapter 52— EDUCATION FOR ECONOMIC SECURITY › Subchapter V— ASBESTOS SCHOOL HAZARD ABATEMENT › § 4012
The Environmental Protection Agency must set up an Asbestos Hazards Abatement Program. The EPA must collect medical, scientific, and technical information on asbestos risks, how to find, sample, and test materials that might release asbestos fibers, and how to reduce or remove asbestos hazards. The EPA must share this information with state and local school agencies and other groups like parent and employee organizations. Each year by November 15, the EPA must make application forms available or tell local school agencies how to get them. The EPA must review and approve or deny financial assistance applications under section 4014.
