$20,000 from Treasury money not already set aside is available until spent for the purposes in section 69. The Smithsonian Secretary may match money put up by a State, school, or scientific group, up to $2,000 per State in any calendar year, for joint investigations. The Smithsonian controls the cooperative work and results. Work on lands run by the Bureau of Indian Affairs or the National Park Service must follow rules set by the Secretary of the Interior.
