Summary

Local educational agencies that want grants under section 7345a, and local or specially qualified agencies that want grants under subpart 2, must count K–12 average daily attendance at the schools they serve each year by December 1. They must send that number to the Secretary by March 1, and subpart 2 applicants must also send it to the State educational agency. If the Secretary finds an agency knowingly gave false numbers to get more money, the agency must pay a fine equal to twice the difference between what it actually received and what it should have received under section 7345a or subpart 2.
