Title 20 › Chapter 70— STRENGTHENING AND IMPROVEMENT OF ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS › Subchapter VIII— GENERAL PROVISIONS › Part B— Flexibility in the Use of Administrative and Other Funds › § 7823
Local school districts can combine the money set aside for running certain federal programs into one pot. They must follow the Secretary’s rules and get their state education agency’s OK. The amount they may combine is limited by the percentage each program allows. The state agency must work with districts to make rules for requests and limits. If a district combines funds, it cannot also use other money from those same programs for administration that year. The combined money can pay for program administration and similar school- or district-level supports. Districts may add State or local money to expand those supports. They do not have to keep separate records for each program’s administrative costs.
