Title 20 › Chapter 70— STRENGTHENING AND IMPROVEMENT OF ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS › Subchapter VIII— GENERAL PROVISIONS › Part F— Uniform Provisions › Subpart 1— private schools › § 7886
Private schools that do not get money or services under this law are not affected by it. Students in those private schools do not have to take any tests mentioned here. The same is true for home schools, no matter how a State calls them; home-schooled students do not have to take those tests. The federal government may not control any part of private, religious, or home schools. Those schools can still choose to take part in programs or services under the law. States or local school agencies that get federal money cannot force or pay for a private or home school’s curriculum.
