Title 20 › Chapter 3— SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, NATIONAL MUSEUMS AND ART GALLERIES › Subchapter VIII— PALEONTOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS › § 78a
Authorizes $65,000 from Treasury funds not already appropriated. The money can be used until it is spent. When the Smithsonian thinks a state agency, school, or scientific organization is ready and the project is worthwhile, it can match that group's contribution. The Smithsonian's match for any one partner may not be more than $10,000 in any fiscal year. All cooperative work and sharing of results must be directed by the Secretary of the Smithsonian. Work on land controlled by the U.S. must follow section 1866(b) of title 18 and sections 320302 and 320303 of title 54 and their rules.
