§80q–15 Authorization of Appropriations

Summary
Congress may appropriate money to the Board of Regents, except as covered elsewhere. It authorizes $10,000,000 for fiscal year 1990 and whatever is needed in later years. Those funds stay available without yearly limits until the facilities under section 80q–5 are ready and can pay for planning, administration, and care of the National Museum collections.

(a)Funding
There is authorized to be appropriated to the Board of Regents to carry out this subchapter (other than as provided in section 80q–5(b)(1)(B), 80q–6, 80q–8, 80q–9, 80q–10, 80q–12, and 80q–13(c)(5) of this title)—
(1)$10,000,000 for fiscal year 1990; and
(2)such sums as may be necessary for each succeeding fiscal year.
(b)Period of availability
Funds appropriated under subsection (a) shall remain available without fiscal year limitation for any period prior to the availability of the facilities to be constructed under section 80q–5 of this title for administrative and planning expenses and for the care and custody of the collections of the National Museum.
