Summary

The Commission must hold hearings, take testimony, and accept evidence when needed to do its work. At those hearings it should invite witnesses like federal, state, and local officials, consumer and community groups, nonprofit financial education groups, and people from the financial industry. The Commission may ask federal departments and agencies for information it needs, and the head of an agency must give that information if the Chairperson asks. The Commission can also do regular studies on financial literacy and make education materials in languages other than English for its website, toll‑free number, and other materials.
