Title 20 › Chapter 26A— INDEMNITY FOR EXHIBITIONS OF ARTS AND ARTIFACTS › § 971
The Federal Council on the Arts and Humanities can make agreements to cover loss or damage to items that qualify under section 972. These agreements must follow the chapter and the Council’s rules and must further the chapter’s goals while protecting the United States’ money. For this chapter, the Council counts as an agency under title 5. The Smithsonian’s Secretary, the National Gallery’s Director, and the two members named by the Senate Commission Chairman and the House Speaker may not serve on the Council.
