Title 20 › Chapter 79— STEM-TRAINING GRANT PROGRAM › § 9904
The Director may hire a college, nonprofit, or other group to run program oversight and handle grant money. The group must be able to copy the program in other places, help with program setup and tech issues, collect and study data, and track whether the program hits its goals. If hired, the group must make sure grantees run the program correctly, use federal funds only for their intended purpose, and keep systems to track those funds. The group must give technical help, collect and analyze data, and each year report to the Director on: students’ progress toward teaching skills and certification; student participation by college major compared with local and State needs for secondary teachers by subject; participation by demographic groups; and the academic results of K–12 students taught by program graduates. The group may help review grant applications if the Director asks. The Director must send that annual report to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions; the House Committee on Science and Technology; and the House Committee on Education and Labor.
