Title 21 › Chapter 15— EGG PRODUCTS INSPECTION › § 1048
An official working for the Secretary can hold eggs or egg products found on a place if they have reason to think the items were handled in ways that break the rules or if restricted eggs that could be eaten are held by someone not allowed to have them. The official may keep the items where they are for up to 20 days while next steps are decided and can require removal of official stamps or labels before release unless the Secretary agrees the marks may remain.
