All ads or other messages that the Office pays for, either directly or through a contract, must include a clear, noticeable notice telling the audience the Office paid for them. “Advertisement or other communication” covers any ad in any form (for example, print or electronic) and any message from a person in any form (spoken, printed, or electronic).
