Title 21 › Chapter 22— NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY › § 1715
By October 24, 2022, and every 4 years after, the Comptroller General must audit the Office and certain programs it runs, including the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Program, the Drug‑Free Communities Program, and the campaign under section 1708(f). The Comptroller General must send the Director and the appropriate congressional committees a report that evaluates the programs’ policies and operations, how economical, efficient, and effective they are, and recommends management or policy changes to prevent and detect fraud and abuse.
