Title 21 › Chapter 7— PRACTICE OF PHARMACY AND SALE OF POISONS IN CONSULAR DISTRICTS IN CHINA › § 207
People, companies, or corporations that owe permanent allegiance to the United States must not sell, give, or supply cocaine (and its salts), morphine (and its salts), opium, chloral hydrate, or products that contain these drugs unless they have the first written prescription from a recognized and reputable doctor, dentist, or veterinarian. That prescription must be dated, signed, and show the name of the person for whom it is written (or the kind of animal if a vet wrote it). The seller must keep the prescription for three years, and the drug cannot be given again after the first time unless the original prescriber writes another order.
