Anyone, firm, or corporation that owes permanent allegiance to the United States and breaks any rule in this chapter commits a misdemeanor and, if convicted, can be fined $50 to $100, jailed one month to 60 days, or both, at the court’s choice. If the violation keeps happening, each week or part of a week counts as a separate offense. United States consular and judicial officers in China must enforce these rules.
