§875 Administrative Hearings

Summary

The Attorney General can hold hearings anywhere in the United States. He or she can issue subpoenas, put witnesses under oath, question them, and accept evidence. Unless this subchapter says something different, people must be given notice and hearings must follow the procedures in subchapter II of chapter 5 of title 5.

(a)In carrying out his functions under this subchapter, the Attorney General may hold hearings, sign and issue subpenas, administer oaths, examine witnesses, and receive evidence at any place in the United States.
(b)Except as otherwise provided in this subchapter, notice shall be given and hearings shall be conducted under appropriate procedures of subchapter II of chapter 5 of title 5.
