Title 22 › Chapter 107— SUDAN DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND FISCAL TRANSPARENCY › § 10004
The President may give U.S. foreign aid under certain laws (including the Foreign Assistance Act and the Better Utilization of Investments Leading to Development Act of 2018) for programs in Sudan, except where the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 or the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008 apply. The aid can be used for eight types of help, including boosting farm and livestock production; growing the economy and helping private businesses; creating jobs and business chances for women, youth, and marginalized groups; improving basic education and university training (including virtual exchanges); expanding water, sanitation, and hygiene projects; and training government officials to manage public money openly, fight corruption, and increase revenue, plus other related economic assistance. For fiscal years 2021 and 2022, the law authorizes $80,000,000 to be appropriated for each year to carry out these programs.
