"Appropriate congressional committees" are the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations and on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and the House Committees on Foreign Affairs and on Financial Services. "Correspondent account" and "payable-through account" mean what section 5318A of Title 31 says. "Foreign financial institution" is defined by the Secretary of the Treasury in a regulation. "Foreign person" means anyone who is not a United States person. "Knowingly" means a person actually knew, or should have known. "Person" means an individual or an organization. "Support" of the Burmese military means knowingly giving major help—such as money, goods, technology, services, or sponsorship. "United States person" means a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, an entity organized under U.S. law (including its foreign branch), or any person in the United States.
