The Secretary of State may assist groups that investigate war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in Burma. Help can include finding suspects, securing evidence and its chain of custody, and carrying out criminal investigations. After considering the report under section 5941, the Secretary may also help set up and run transitional justice bodies, including a hybrid tribunal, to prosecute suspects.
