Title 22 › Chapter 110— INFORMATION SECURITY AND CYBER DIPLOMACY › § 10309
Create a "Post Data Program" run by the Department’s Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer to build a data and AI culture at U.S. diplomatic posts worldwide, link post data with State Department Headquarters, and make operations more efficient, innovative, and effective. The Secretary must, within 180 days after December 18, 2025, send Congress an implementation plan showing how to meet those goals, hire data and AI officers at posts, and fund the Program. The Secretary must also report on that plan within 180 days after December 18, 2025 and once a year for the next three years. Appropriate congressional committees means the House Committees on Foreign Affairs and Appropriations and the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations and Appropriations.
