Title 22 › Chapter 18— UNITED STATES INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS › Subchapter III— ASSIGNMENT OF SPECIALISTS › § 1453
A U.S. government employee sent to work with a foreign government can, if their U.S. agency approves and the Director of the United States Information Agency agrees, take a job with that foreign government without getting extra pay. This can only happen when the foreign job is needed for the person to do their assigned work, for example to approve or handle money the foreign government gives for programs under this chapter. They must not be asked to take an oath of allegiance to the foreign government.
