Title 22 › Chapter 21— SETTLEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL CLAIMS › Subchapter IV— CLAIMS AGAINST CZECHOSLOVAKIA › § 1642c
The Commission must decide, under applicable law including international law, whether claims by U.S. nationals against Czechoslovakia for property and related rights taken on or after January 1, 1945 are valid and how much is owed. It must follow any claims agreement made between the two governments within one year following August 8, 1958, and may accept the fair or proved value of the property as of the last time the U.S. owner ran or controlled it, even if that date was before the taking.
