Summary

The Secretary of State must create and run in Hawaii a school called the Center for Cultural and Technical Interchange Between East and West by partnering with public or nonprofit institutions. The Secretary must fund scholars and students from Eastern and Western countries and open the Center to qualified people for study or training.

Title 22, §2055

Foreign Relations and Intercourse — Source: USLM XML via OLRC

In order to carry out the purpose of this subchapter the Secretary of State (hereinafter referred to as the “Secretary”) shall provide for— (1)
(2)grants, fellowships, and other payments to outstanding scholars and authorities from the nations of the East and West as may be necessary to attract such scholars and authorities to the Center;
(3)grants, scholarships, and other payments to qualified students from the nations of the East and West as may be necessary to enable such students to engage in study or training at the Center; and
(4)making the facilities of the Center available for study or training to other qualified persons.
