Title 22 › Chapter 29— CULTURAL, TECHNICAL, AND EDUCATIONAL CENTERS › Subchapter V— INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR MIDDLE EASTERN-WESTERN DIALOGUE › § 2078
Creates a trust fund in the U.S. Treasury called the International Center for Middle Eastern‑Western Dialogue Trust Fund. Money in the fund must pay for the Center’s work to promote dialogue and scholarship in the Middle East. The fund can take gifts and must be invested in U.S. government bonds or securities guaranteed by the U.S. Government. Interest and sale proceeds go back into the fund and can be used any time. Each year, up to the total interest and earnings added to the fund can be used to run the Center. Congress may also add any other needed money to the fund without yearly limits to support the Center and build a permanent endowment. The United States, through the State Department, will keep ownership of the Palazzo Corpi in Istanbul and must keep the Center there.
