Title 22 › Chapter 32— FOREIGN ASSISTANCE › Subchapter I— INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT › Part XII— Support for the Economic and Political Independence of the Countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia › § 2296b
Fund and support building the physical infrastructure that countries in the South Caucasus and Central Asia need to work together regionally and to make trade easier with the United States and other developed countries. Ways to do this include helping the Export‑Import Bank finish eligibility reviews for financing under the Export‑Import Bank Act of 1945, having the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation provide insurance, reinsurance, financing, or other help, and using assistance under section 2421 (Trade and Development Agency). These efforts can be used to get U.S. companies involved in planning, financing, and building communications, transport (including air), energy, and trade infrastructure such as highways, railroads, ports, shipping, banks, insurance, telecom networks, and gas and oil pipelines.
