Title 22 › Chapter 34— THE PEACE CORPS › § 2505
The President may sign up U.S. citizens or nationals as Peace Corps volunteer leaders when supervisors or special staff are needed. No more than one volunteer leader is allowed for every twenty-five volunteers. Volunteer leaders are covered by the same rules that apply to volunteers, and the word "volunteers" includes volunteer leaders. Volunteer leaders must get a readjustment payment of at least $125 for each month of good service. Spouses and minor children who go with a leader may, in special cases the President allows, get living, travel, leave, housing, transport, subsistence, and special clothing items. They may also get health care (including in certain facilities) under conditions and reimbursement rules the President sets, and they may receive orientation, language, and other training the President finds necessary.
