Title 22 › CHAPTER 7 — INTERNATIONAL BUREAUS, CONGRESSES, ETC. › § 262p–4g
The Secretary of the Treasury must tell the U.S. Executive Director at the Inter‑American Development Bank to push strongly for technical help that turns government-owned companies in borrowing member countries into privately owned, self-sustaining businesses. That help can include valuing company assets, evaluating offers to buy the companies, and creating or improving market tools to make transfers of ownership possible. It also notes U.S. policy supports growing the private sector through multilateral development banks.
