Title 22 › Chapter 7— INTERNATIONAL BUREAUS, CONGRESSES, ETC. › § 269d
Each year the United States may use money from the Treasury, under the direction of the Secretary of State, to pay its share to be an adhering member of the Inter American Statistical Institute. The payment can only happen if, in the previous fiscal year, at least eight other American nations were in good standing as adhering members and at least eight of those paid dues that together totaled at least $10,000. The United States cannot pay more than $35,000 in any one fiscal year.
